Japanese Sencha Teapot (with built-in tea strainer) - Black
This teapot, designed with simplicity and straight lines in mind, is meant to blend into any space effortlessly. Its shallow and wide shape is particularly suited for green tea, allowing tea leaves to spread out and steep thoroughly. The design offers excellent pour flow, easy cleaning, and stability, making it a convenient size for brewing about 1 to 4 servings.
Although the teapot has a straightforward and easy-to-clean shape, please pour slowly and tilt it gradually when using. The tea strainer is a traditional built-in type. For more details on choosing a tea strainer, please refer to "How to Choose a Tea Strainer."
The straight lines of the body and lid make it prone to deformation during firing, presenting a challenging shape for pottery. It is crafted with expert skills and meticulous attention to detail.
The clay used is rich in iron, traditionally blended for teapots, and fired in a way that the iron content turns black without the need for glaze. Especially, not applying glaze on the inside allows the tea to interact with the fine texture of the clay, which gently mitigates the astringency of the tea, making it milder and tastier.
For daily care, rinse with water only and ensure it is thoroughly dried after washing. If tea stains or water marks are of concern, soaking in a diluted dish bleach solution is also effective.
※The built-in tea strainer part is very delicate and susceptible to breaking. Be careful not to hit the strainer with the lid or other parts, as it may cause damage.

Pouring Instructions
Pouring too swiftly or at a steep angle may cause hot water to spill from around the lid. Start pouring at a gentle angle and gradually tilt to avoid spills.

Built-in Tea Strainer Teapot Cautions
- The strainer is very thin and prone to damage if it comes into contact with other dishes or is pressed too hard. Handle with care.
- If washing in a dishwasher, there is a risk of damage depending on the conditions. Hand washing is recommended.
- After using the tea leaves, rinse them quickly with water or hot water, drain well, and dry. Occasionally drying in the sun can be more hygienic.
- If concerned about tea stains, soaking overnight in a diluted solution of oxygen-based bleach for dishes can clean it effectively. Ensure it is rinsed thoroughly to prevent any odor and dried well.
About Stoneware
- Use a neutral detergent for washing. Do not use abrasive sponges, metal scrubbers, or cleansers as they may damage the surface.
- The clay contains iron powder, which may result in black spots on the surface but enjoy this as part of the product's texture.
- As with the tea strainer, washing in a dishwasher may pose a risk of damage, so hand washing is recommended.
